Transportation technology was a hot topic at CES 2020, and MarketScale was there to gauge industry leaders’ thoughts on everything from micro-mobility and artificial intelligence’s role in the future of transportation to the use of mobile devices, private-public partnerships, and more.
Below is a brief look at some of the insights they shared with MarketScale on the show floor.
On Private-Public Partnerships
USPS’s David Rupert:
“We’re very invested in transportation and innovation. … In the end, all these great products that are here at CES (have) to get to somebody’s home. We’re a huge part of that. We’re the biggest last-mile delivery person, so we’re looking at ways to improve that.”
NIU’s Joseph Constanty:
“Companies like us that are bringing fully connected vehicles into the marketplace – it provides a lot of opportunities that we have not yet even imagined as to how these really will fit into public transportation.”
Bell’s Carey Cannon:
“We’re in lots of discussions with developers, with municipalities, with cities, and it’s really interesting. They’re interested in this. They have a problem. They know this isn’t the only solution, but it can be part of the solution. … If this is going to be what we all want it to be, there’s got to be some collaboration there.”
On Autonomous Vehicle Providers
“For our vehicles, specifically, and for two-wheels and four-wheels in the not-so-distant future, they will be our key.”
