Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provides technical and subject matter expertise in support of the TPC Members and Revenue Cycle team (75%):
    • Collaborates with Revenue Cycle Council and contributes to development of TPC strategy and workplan with VP of Revenue Cycle
    • Leads, builds and maintains relationships with revenue cycle leaders and managers at Member facilities
    • Coordinates the implementation of best practice and performance improvement projects as defined by the Revenue Cycle Council (RCC) and VP of Revenue Cycle
    • Leads sub committee and targeted workgroup meetings focused on facilitating and driving results
    • Leads and manages projects to drive operational and financial improvement across multiple revenue cycle departments (i.e. Patient Access, Revenue Integrity, HIM, Managed Care Contracting and Patient Accounting) and multiple locations
    • Develops actionable workplans to support Member initiatives
    • Facilitate and assist Members in obtaining and validating revenue cycle data
    • Perform data analytics and benchmarks Member data against industry best practices
    • Optimize revenue cycle workflow, systems, and operations at TPC Members
    • Identify opportunities for improvement through observations, analysis, and interviews and builds a case for change
    • Manage and build vendor relationships including contract negotiations and vendor performance discussions
    • Identify and implement vendors to support Member needs
    • Utilize expertise to build projects/programs that meet the business needs of Members and TPC
    • Innovate new ways to enhance Member performance
    • Manage both TPC and Member resources to drive results timely
  • Leads and coordinates TPC meetings, webinars, conference calls and events, in conjunction with TPC Revenue Cycle team as appropriate (15%):
    • Develop monthly meeting content and agenda in coordination with VP of Revenue Cycle and RCC Chair
    • Develop content and presentation for quarterly Executive Steering Committee and Board of Managers meeting with Member CEO, COO, and CFO
  • Provides operational support to TPC RC team members (5%):
  • Provides administrative support to TPC RC team (5%):
  • Provides other duties as required by TPC RC team.
Minimum Knowledge, Competencies & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or healthcare related field required, MBA in Healthcare related field preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with a healthcare revenue cycle consulting firm or multi-facility system with a proven track record of performance improvement
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in hospital and physician revenue cycle including Patient Access, Revenue Integrity, HIM/Coding, and Patient Accounting
  • Active participant in relevant health care industry groups (e.g., HFMA, MGMA, ACHE, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and public speaking skills
  • Excellent organization skills and a strong professional presence
  • Robust project management skills across multi departments and facilities
  • Excellent data management skills.
  • Skilled in the use of personal computers and related software applications, including but not limited to advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Skilled at drafting and editing correspondence and associated documentation.
  • Experience with hospital and physician patient accounting systems, such as EPIC, Cerner, Meditech, GE, and Allscripts
